High-Temperature Microelectrophoresis Cell
Designed for measurements of electrophoretic mobilities of micro-particles in DC electric field. Operating parameters: T 25-200oC, P 1-60 bar, particle size 0.1-1 mm.
Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Test Station
Designed to operate various kinds of SOFCs using different fuels, including hydrogen, jet fuels, bio-disels, and waste fuels. Operating parameters: T ~700oC.
High-Temperature H2/O2 PEMFC
Used for testing new high-temperature proton-exchange membranes; includes humidification system, gas flow meters, and electronic load. Operating parameters: T~25-150oC, P~1-5 bars, and variable relative humidity.
Gamry Instruments Electrochemical Test Station
Used to measure electrochemical Impedance. Using this technique, we can acquire a wealth of information on electrode/electrolyte processes by applying a small AC-signal.
High-Temperature Membrane Permeability Cell
Used to measure the methanol diffusion rate through polymer membranes due to concentration gradient. Operating parameters: T~ 25-200oC.
High-Temperature Conductivity Cell
Designed to measure the in-plane proton conductivity of proton-exchange membranes. The P-T conditions (T ~25-200oC) are established in a Parr Autoclave, and membrane impedance is measured using the Gamry Instruments Electrochemical Test Station (above).
High-Temperature pH cell
Designed to measure pH in aqueous solutions at elevated temperatures and pressures. The working temperature range is up to ~400oC.
Hot Press Equipment
Used to heat-treat newly prepared membranes and membrane-electrode assemblies for PEMFC.
Rotating Disk Electrode System BASI RDE-2
Used to perform electrochemical kinetics studies under controlled hydrodynamic conditions. The rotation rate range: 50 to 20,000 rpm. Interchangeable electrodes allow measurements for a wide selection of electrode materials.
High Temperature Electrochemical System
Includes a flow-through electrochemical cell for corrosion and electrochemical kinetics measurements in high temperature subcritical and supercritical aqueous fluids.
