About Enhanced Oil Recovery JIP

The enhanced oil recovery research program was initiated at The University of Texas at Austin (UT) on September of 2006 under the name Gas Flooding Joint Industry Project. The initial objective of the research group was to provide a wide range of research topics in the areas of gas and surfactant-polymer flooding. Many faculty were invited to join at that time.

In 2010, the group was moved to The Pennsylvania State University, where faculty from both PSU and UT lead research projects. The projects should be fundamental research and industrial affiliates are encouraged to provide topics and data for research so that the research is company led, not university led. In 2014, the name of the group changed to Enhanced Oil Recover JIP in order to encompass a broader range of research topics.
