The College of Earth and Mineral Sciences recently held its 2013 undergraduate poster exhibition. The exhibition showcases the variety of research among undergraduate students in the College’s five departments. This year, there were 30 entries.
As part of this event, Phi Kappa Phi, a national honors society housed at the EMS Energy Institute, sponsored the Phi Kappa Phi Freshman Outstanding Research Poster Award. This award, one of five awards presented as part of this event, went to John Swab a freshman in the Department of Geography for his poster, “Streetcars: The Start of the Suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland.”
Congratulations to John Swab and congratulations to all the other poster award winners.
