Ciara Hovis, Eberly College of Science, majoring in biology-ecology with a wildlife and fisheries minor has been awarded the Peter T. Luckie Award for Excellence in Research in the Life Sciences. The Peter T. Luckie Award is sponsored by the Penn State Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society. The award was started in 2008 to honor Peter Luckie, Professor Emeritus in mineral processing. He served as the Phi Kappa Phi chapter president for 10 years. The award is presented to top juniors at the Undergraduate Research Exhibition. Sharon Miller, senior research associate at the EMS Energy Institute, is the current chapter president.
