Combustion Laboratory Manager

Western Kentucky University, Institute for Combustion Science and Environmental Technology is seeking applicants for a Combustion Laboratory Manager. The Institute for Combustion Science and Environmental Technology serves research needs relating to Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Thermal Engineering at Western Kentucky University. This is a full-time revenue dependent professional staff position.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include combustion laboratory management and operation of laboratory combustion system (CFBC, AFBC, and Drop Tube Reactor), combustion field-testing, preparation of technical and professional reports, and assisting in preparation of proposals.

Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. Degree in Chemical Engineering or Thermal Engineering is required with two or more years of circulating fluidized bed combustion (CFBC) systems experience.
  • Two years experience in coal combustion, with mercury measurement is required.
  • Must be able to travel and work at monitoring sites, primarily coal power plants.
Expected Salary Range:
$55,000 - $90,000 annually.
