University of Perth, Australia Study Abroad

The Energy Institute (EI) and the Center for Geomechanics, Geofluids, and Geohazards (G3) has opportunities for talented undergraduates in the
engineering and natural sciences to participate in an NSF-funded research project at the University of Western Australia (UWA) in Perth.

The successful students will spend 1-3 months in Summer 2007 working with the UWA scientific centrifuge at the Nedlands Campus in Perth. The US National Science Foundation will support travel and living expenses, together with a modest stipend (~US$1000/month).

Travel is anticipated to be within the period May - August 2007. All exceptional students in the engineering and natural sciences are eligible, but
completing sophomores and juniors are best suited. The results from the study would be suitable as a senior thesis and would be available for external publication.
